Swedish player Ludwig «Brollan» Brolin has signed a new contract with fnatic, tying his career with the team for another three years. The 18-year-old cyber athlete has been playing for fnatic since 2018 and has contributed a lot to its successes in that time. He has twice been ranked in the top 20 players by HLTV – in 2019 and 2020.
Brollan began competing on the professional scene in 2017 after taking part in a cybersports reality show. Later that year, he joined GODSENT and played for it until that lineup was bought by Red Reserve. Four months later, he started playing for fnatic – first as a substitute and then as a regular. It was largely due to his talent that fnatic was able to successfully compete at PLG Grand Slam 2018 and DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019. Last year, Brollan earned his first MVP title when his team won ESL Pro League Season 11.
2021 did not start off well for fnatic. After newcomer Jack «Jakckiho» Strom Mattson was added to the roster in January, the team did well at cs_summit 7, losing only to Virtus.pro, but fell out of IEM Katowice after only two matches. Therefore, extending Brollan's contract gives fans hope that the team will perform better from here on out. The next important matches are coming up for fnatic next week, in the ESL Pro League Season 13 group tournament.
