Brazilian cyber athlete Renato «nak» Nakano has announced that he is retiring from DETONA and ending his professional career. Last month, his team defeated 9z in the Gamers Club Masters VI tournament.
Nakano's career has evolved over the course of seventeen years. During this time he managed to compete in g3x, FireGamers and MIBR, in CS 1,6 and CS: Source disciplines. He took a break from performing between 2012 and 2015 before returning as Luminosity's coach. After that, nak started to take part in matches as an active player again, changing several teams successively. He was prominently featured in the Keyd, Sharks and Red Canids lineups.
One of the main reasons for the end of nak's career was a decrease in motivation. He said that having to practice constantly, perfecting every aspect of the game, caused him fatigue and at some point stopped paying off. In addition, the player mentioned that it has always been important for him to compete on a global level, but now it has become impossible for him because he wants to spend more time in Brazil with his family.
At the same time, Renato Nakano has no plans to leave CS: GO completely. He will look into creating content that will be useful for young players. He also doesn't rule out the possibility of becoming a coach or manager of a cybersports organization.
