Bots in KS2

19 January 2024, 01:26

Bots – characters in the game that are not playable, but behave almost like real players. They are controllable, have artificial intelligence, can walk, shoot, act on the map. Thanks to their presence, you can play offline to warm up properly before the real game. Many novice players are interested in how to make bots in KS2. This is the topic to which we will devote today's article.

Bot capabilities, their advantages and disadvantages

Using bots offline will allow you to practice shooting to improve your skills. They will also be useful for theoretical placement of enemies at bomb laying points. With the ability to add bots, you can install as many players as you need to get real experience. Also «pseudo-players» on the server allow you to create and play out fun scenarios that will make the experience more varied.

So, you need to know how to make bots in KS2 to:

  1. Practice shooting. This can be implemented not only on simple cards, but also on specialized cards. Bots will be used as targets.

  2. Practice throwing grenades. You will be able to test the action of incendiary and fragmentation grenades, hammers, and flashes on these characters.

Bots in KS2

Using bots, you can learn all the basics of the shooter.

Such characters have several disadvantages. They are as follows:

  1. Initial difficulty level. You won't meet any serious opponents in the form of bots, as they take quite a long time to aim by the standards of the game, and they also don't know how to throw grenades correctly.

  2. As you gain experience, you will not be interested in playing against such characters.

  3. Bots in KS2 are programmed in such a way that you can outperform them in any situation. That is, even when switching to hard mode, they will not really resist.

Despite the disadvantages, such a feature in the game is not at all superfluous for beginners who need to gain experience. That's why it will be useful for them to know how to make bots in KS2.

Ways to add or remove unplayable characters in Counter-Strike2

In Counter-Strike 2 you can not only enable bots, but also customize their difficulty level. When running the game in several modes (standard, training, competition, fight to the death) bots in KS2 are added automatically. If necessary, they can be removed and then brought back.

Experienced players usually tend to remove these characters, as they contribute to blocking hits in private games. You can do this using a series of commands:

  1. bot_kick. Such a command will remove all characters from a particular map at once. This can be realized even without cheat mode.

  2. bot_kill. In this case, all bots will be killed for one round. Keep in mind that they will be revived again in a later round. For this command, remember to activate cheats mode with sv_cheats 1 (to disable it, enter sv_cheats 0).

Before entering commands, make sure you have the console enabled. You can do this easily: tap «Settings» in the upper left corner, select the «Game tab» and check «Yes» against «Enable Developer Console».

Bots in KS2 2

If there is a need to return bots to KS2, enter bot_add. This may be necessary if different teams have unequal numbers of players. When using the specified command, the character will join the team with fewer players by default. To add a bot to a particular side, use combinations like these:

  • bot_add_ct – add one pseudo character for CT (special forces);

  • bot_add_t – add one character for T (terrorists).

Since when adding characters for a particular team, the game will redistribute their number for balance in automatic mode, you can disable this option. Auto-balance on the map is disabled with the command mp_limitteams 0. With it, you will eliminate the player limit for any team. Instead of 0 at the end of the line, specify the number of bots you will need. The command mp_autoteambalance 0 will disable auto-balance on the map, and you will not be able to include bots

in

your team due to the set player limit.

In addition to general settings, you can allow bots in KS2 to use only a certain type of weapon:

  • bot_snipers_only (once this command is introduced, characters cannot use other weapons, excluding sniper rifles);

  • bot_knives_only (only knives can be used);

  • bot_pistols_only (only pistols are allowed).

Other commands for bots to use weapons:

  • bot_all_weapons – all types of weapons are allowed;

  • bot_allow_sub_machine_guns – submachine guns;

  • bot_allow_grenades – grenades;

  • bot_allow_snipers – sniper rifles;

  • bot_allow_rifles – rifles;

  • bot_allow_rogues – pistols.

In training mode, characters can also be given commands that give you an advantage in the game. These are:

  • bot_controllable – defining whether unplayable characters can be controlled by players;

  • bot_chatter with values off', radio, minimal or normal – control of bot conversations;

  • bot_difficulty with values from 0 to 3 (from «easy» to «expert») – control of bot difficulty level in KS2;

  • bot_dont_shoot – prohibit these characters from firing weapons;

  • bot_place - bot_place – placing the bot on the map in a place specified by the player.

How to change the difficulty of bots in CS2?

If you want to change the level of skills and abilities of bots in the new version of Counter Strike, you will not be able to do it through the main menu. In this case, you will need to use the console command bot_difficulty. We've already touched on this topic a bit above, but now we'll tell you more about what you need to do.

The console command for determining the difficulty of bots in KS2 can take these values:

  • bot_difficulty 0 – harmless characters (they have no ability to use weapons and shoot);

  • bot_difficulty 1 – easy level;

  • bot_difficulty 2 – medium level;

  • bot_difficulty 3 – high difficulty;

  • bot_difficulty 4 – experienced bots.

Bots in KS2 3

Easy level bots are fairly simple and easy to get experience with. This is the perfect option for a beginner. At mid-level, such characters create the conditions for a more balanced game, suitable for most players. On the hard difficulty level, bots have increased shooting accuracy and tactics, suitable for players looking for worthy opponents. Level «expert» is suitable for experienced players, as bots of this level use advanced tactics and strategies.

Please note: you cannot change the difficulty level of these characters directly during the game. Set the value before starting the training map.

There are a few more commands you should know to control the difficulty of characters:

  1. bot_autodifficulty_threshold_high 0. Instead of the number 0, you set a value between 20 and -20. The command automatically increases the character's skill level if the player who plays against him is stronger. The system evaluates a participant's level based on their average performance.

  2. bot_autodifficulty_threshold_low -2. Instead of a value of -2, you should set a value between -20 and 20. The command, unlike the previous one, automatically reduces the difficulty of characters.

It is possible to add bots in KS2 with different difficulty levels. First click all characters off the map (use the bot_kick command to do this), then add them one by one by applying commands such as these:

  • bot_add easy – adding «easy» character;

  • bot_add_ct normal – to add a medium difficulty bot to the counterterrorist side;

  • bot_add_t hard – to add a hard bot to the terrorist side;

  • bot_add expert – add an experienced character to the map.

Controlling bots in Counter-Strike2

There are a number of special commands that will help you control bots in KS2 in such a way that they act not according to the script of the mode, but as you need. They are also activated through the console. Note that you need to start cheats mode using the sv_cheats 1 command to do this. The right to do this is given to the administrator or server creator. The cheat mode is disabled with the command sv_cheats 0.

It is easy to put such a character on the desired location. This is implemented by the bot_place command, which we have already mentioned above. It allows you to set the bot to the location of your view. The character appears a meter away from you. First the opponent is set in the specified place, then – character from your team.

For more convenience when entering such commands it is recommended to use binds. In the console, type bind i bot_place. Here, pressing i will trigger the command to set the bot in place without any unnecessary movement on the player's part. To remove the bind you need to use the command unbind i.

After arranging bots in KS2 their behavior will be undesirable for you: characters will run away, attack you, fight with each other. They can be stopped with the command bot_stop 1 – in this case they will stop shooting and making any movements. Characters can then be returned to places favorable to you. If you need to set them in motion again, use the bot_stop 0 command.

There is one more feature useful for real players: the repetition of bots in KS2 actions of a real player. This includes shooting, moving by jumping or crouching. To enable this option, use the console command bot_mimic 1. Keep in mind that you will not be able to lead your characters in this case.

In the game, you can prohibit bots from buying any weapons. In this case, even if they have money, they will not be able to buy stocking up on guns or ammunition. To implement such a function, use the mp_free_armor 0 command. Note: bots will not be able to buy weapons, but they will be able to pick up weapons lying on the ground and use them

for

their intended purpose.

number of other commands that will be useful to you when working with such characters:

  • bot_show_battlefront 1 – demonstrate the trajectory of the bot;

  • bot_zombie 1 – immobilize all such characters on the map;

  • bot_zombie 0 – disable immobilization;

  • bot_dont_shoot 1 – disable fire;

  • bot_dont_shoot 0 – disable fire ban;

  • bot_mimic_yaw_offset 0 – disable real player's actions;

  • bot_crouch 1 – squatting;

  • mp_free_armor 2 – provide all bots with Kevlar armor and helmets;

  • mp_free_armor 1 – give all characters body armor with no additional equipment;

  • bot_quota_mode fill; bot_stop 1 – add characters to empty slots if there are any on the server;

  • bot_gods – make all characters immortal;

  • bot_defer_to_human_goals (if you set the value 1 without quotes at the end, the bots will perform actions, conceived by the game scenario; if you set the value 0, they will move chaotically, perform unrelated and thoughtless actions).

How to play against bots in KS2 with a friend?

Bots in KS2 4

To do this, you will need to download a free program Radmin VPN. You can use it to create your own dedicated network. At the same time, the program must be downloaded by both you and your friend, with whom you plan to play against bots.

After the program is installed, one of the players needs to create a network by clicking on the appropriate button in the menu. Next, enter the network name and password (they can be any, at your discretion). Players enter the program, select «Connect to the network» and enter the network name and password that were conceived by the creator.

The creator of the dedicated network will become a host with KS2. It also creates a match in training mode or in the selected map.

Other players connect to the host by right-clicking on the network author in the program and selecting «Copy IP». The selected IP must be inserted into KS2, opening the console.

If you know the console commands associated with the actions of bots, and skillfully use them, such features will benefit your gaming experience
