The June 12 update to CS:GO seems to have caused an unusual bug. One of the main goals of the update was to improve visibility on some maps. However, the result was that this mechanism worked a little too well, with more and more players reporting being able to see others through smoke and even through obstacles. In particular, one Reddit user demonstrated that he was able to see the opposing team's player behind cover on the Nuke map, even though he was not in his field of view. In addition, the kennel of the enemy that the user saw reproduced his movements, so it would not be difficult to damage him by shooting through cover.
After publishing this post, many players started reporting similar problems. What is the nature of this bug remains unclear for now. Information about it has already been sent to Valve, but no definite response has yet been received from the developers, as they have not yet been able to pinpoint the exact conditions under which the problem is reproduced. However, the players themselves have also begun to make their own hypotheses. One user suggested that this phenomenon occurs due to an error in calculating what percentage of the opponent's piece is actually visible to the player.
