Astralis will miss the next ranking tournament

Team Astralis representatives revealed that the team will miss the next regional ranked tournament, which is being organized by Beyond the Summit. The competition is scheduled to take place at the end of June. Kasper Hvidt, Astralis sporting director, explained that this decision was due to the need to replace players.

After Lukas «gla1ve» Rossander and Andreas «Xyp9x» Heuslet took a break from playing to recover from burnout symptoms, Astralis had to find someone to replace them. However, changing players on the roster removes ranking points, and as a result, the team would lose 960 of the 2,400 points it has gained so far by winning StarLadder Major and ESL One: Road to Rio. Because of this, they risk losing more points than they earn if they fail to perform well in a competition. Kasper Hvidt explained that he didn't see the point in taking a risk by participating in a tournament under such circumstances.

The competition, called cs_summit 6, will begin on June 22. The winner will be able to earn 2,000 points. Astralis currently leads the European rankings, beating its closest competitor G2 by 720 points. The third RMR tournament, where teams can make the strongest promotion, is scheduled for November.
